Aluminium Bronze

Used in many heavy duty applications, it is recommended for high load, high wear applications that require tensile strength, good ductility, weldability or exceptional resistance to fatigue and deformation in overload situations. In addition to good anti- frictional characteristics, the metal also exhibits low rates of scaling in atmospheric conditions, resistance to corrosion in seawater, low oxidation rates at higher temperatures and low reactivity with combustion exhaust byproducts.

Marine: Marine defence ship applications requiring low magnetic permeability, anchor chains, anchors, instrument housing, valve blocks and valve stems.

Automotive: Valve guides. Electrical Power: Electrical Power:

Fasteners: Nuts and bolts. Industrial Valves: Bodies & other components, cams gears

A single phase silicon aluminium bronze with high ductility, good corrosion resistance and low magnetic permeability. It has good anti-galling and anti-seizure properties.

They are also used in applications such as heavy duty sleeve bearings, and machine tool ways. They are designated by UNS C60800 through C64210. Aluminum bronze castings have exceptional corrosion resistance, high strength, toughness and wear resistance and good casting and welding characteristics.
